Raheem Chaudhry

Dr. Raheem Chaudhry

Psychiatry is still the part of medicine that diagnoses by impression rather than measurement. I'm working to change that by bringing objective, scalable signals like speech into how serious mental illness is detected and treated.

My focus is US community behavioural health: the services that see the most serious illness and are given the least to work with.

Co-founder and COO of Psyrin, building on the speech-biomarker research I contributed to and the analysis pipeline I designed. A former NHS doctor, I trained in medicine at King's College London and worked in liaison psychiatry.

What I'm working on

Serious mental illness affects millions of Americans, and it is most often missed where clinical capacity is thinnest: in the community behavioural-health services that carry the heaviest caseloads with the fewest clinicians, the least support and training, and, too often, no psychiatrist at all. My work is to make mental-health assessment objective and scalable, and to get that technology working in exactly those settings.

What's deployed today is Mira, Psyrin's conversational clinical AI, built with strict clinical guardrails. She is live across multi-site US community behavioural-health organisations, with consistently strong feedback from the patients and staff who use her. Behind her sits the research: turning speech into a measurable clinical signal, validated in peer-reviewed work and now moving through clinical trials.
